Last Week’s Program...
We met our fellow club members Jane
Noble, Candance Brake, Gary Sisk, Jody Wassmer, Tom Ed Booth, Mike Wallace and
Bob Wayman. The program started with a contest of to see which team had the most
knowledge of the individuals being introduced. The Blue Team won despite every
effort by Red Team Captain Jane Noble to give the Red Team a winning
advantage.
The individuals then took a few minutes to introduce themselves to the club. One item we learned about each: Jane Noble is a coal miners daughter from Eastern Kentucky, Candi Brake moved back to Owensboro after her husband (who is not from Owensboro) got a job here. Gary Sisk was born in Madisonville and played on the same football team as Sonny Collins. Jody Wassmer has lived in 11 different homes during his 16 years in Owensboro. Tom Ed Booth is a family maverick and went into banking as opposed to the tire or oil business (he also claims he did not hold so called "Bible Study" meetings at his home as suggested by the Red Team). Mike Wallace worked for Caywood Ledford and broadcast UK football and basketball games for 6 years. Bob Wayman has remained married to the same wonderful woman for 31 years even through they have moved 17 times for job opportunities.
All of these individuals are highly successful and are leaders who bring many diverse talents and points of view to our club. I am proud to call each a fellow Rotarian.
Thanks for an enjoyable and informative program!
