Last Week’s Program...
Keith Sanders, Executive Director of the Hager Educational Foundation spoke to the Club about the Owensboro-Daviess County Asset Building Coalition. The mission of the Coalition is to help working low and moderate income families become more economically self-sufficient. They hope to accomplish this by educating the community about the issues affecting low and moderate income families; by offering free tax-preparation to these families; by assisting in opening checking and savings accounts, and by conducting financial education seminars. The Coalition has over 100 volunteers and last year provided assistance to nearly 600 families. Keith stated more volunteers are needed and invited Rotary members to volunteer their help with tax return preparation and serving as site greeters and screeners.
Thanks Keith.
