Last Week’s Program...
Wednesday’s program was a little out of the ordinary but very entertaining. Mike Filbin, Executive Director of Theater Workshop of Owensboro introduced Nelda Darrell and Tom Mudd who performed a skit entitled "I’m Herbert". "I’m Herbert" finds Murial and Herbert sitting on their porch bickering over each other’s inability to correctly remember the other’s name (names of former spouses kept popping out) or past events of their lives (who went where or did what with whom). The delightful banter between Murial and Herbert kept us all pleasantly confused and highly entertained. This lighthearted comedy had everyone laughing and easily put Abbott and Costello’s "Who’s on First" routine to shame.

Thank you Mike for arranging the program and thank you Nelda and Tom for making us laugh out loud.

YOUR PRESIDENT SPEAKS: MEET OUR NEW RI PRESIDENT
The president of Rotary International for 2006-07 is William B. Boyd. Bill has been a Rotarian since 1971 and is a member of the Rotary Club of Pakuranga, New Zealand. He is the second RI president from New Zealand. Bill has chosen "Lead the Way" as the theme for the 2006-07 RI year. Bill chose this theme to challenge Rotary as an association, and all its clubs, to accept the challenge of showing leadership in the issues that confront our communities and our world. He has challenged every Rotarian to be an example in those basic qualities of integrity, tolerance, honesty and service. Bill plans to encourage literacy programs as a major emphasis for 2006-07. He knows that literacy opens the door to better health, nutrition and ability to earn a living. I am sure he will make a great ambassador for Rotary.

Have a great week, Bill
