Thought for the Week: Silence is often misinterpreted but never misquoted.

YOUR PRESIDENT SPEAKS:
Congratulations Laswell Scholars! On Wednesday, April 5th, our club recognized and awarded scholarships to students from each of the county’s five high schools. This year’s recipients are:

Trinity High School: Whitney Payne
Owensboro High School: Andrew Gish
Owensboro Catholic High School: Chase McNulty
Daviess County High School: Kristina Robertson
Apollo High School: Julia Morgan

All of the recipients have distinguished themselves with academic and civic accomplishments. Each of the students were accompanied by family members and school representatives.

The Tom Laswell Scholarship was established in 1992 in honor of Owensboro business and civic leader Thomas C. Laswell, Jr. An active Rotarian for 45 years, Laswell was president of Owensboro Rotary in 1955, District Governor in 1959, became a Paul Harris Fellow in 1979 and was designated "Mr. Rotary" in 1993. The funds for these scholarships come from the voluntary contributions many of us make as a part of our dues. If you have not already done so, I encourage each of you to contribute to our Tom Laswell Scholarship Fund to perpetuate this important scholarship program of our club.

Have a Great Week.

Bill
