YOUR PRESIDENT SPEAKS:
January is Rotary Awareness Month. It is important that we as members are all aware of Rotary’s goals and that we strive to make the public aware of those goals and the many worthwhile projects of Rotary. Rotary is an organization that works for peace and better understanding between people. The emphasis this year will be working on projects dealing with literacy, water management, hunger and health. Here are some other important Rotary facts:
• There are 1.2 million Rotarians in 168 countries.
• The Rotary International headquarters is in Evanston, Illinois.
• Our Club is run by the RI Board of Directors, which is chaired by the RI President, currently Carl-Wilhelm Stenhammar.
• The Rotary Foundation is a separate, affiliated entity of Rotary that handles RI’s finances.
• It has its own Board of Trustees and its own chairman.
• The world’s largest Rotary Club is in San Antonio, Texas.
• The Rotary website: www.rotary.org.

Have a great week.
