Last Week’s Program...
Daviess County Judge Executive Reid Haire addressed the club on the "state of the County". Judge Haire spoke on the following topics:
• The proposed Advance Technology Center to be constructed at the Owensboro Community College and the need to have a public college campus located in Daviess County.
• The need for broadband internet service in rural areas. The Judge stated he would be meeting shortly with the county judge executives of surrounding counties to discuss ways of obtaining this valuable service.
• The pros and cons of a city/county merger.
Thank you Judge Haire for an informative program.

YOUR PRESIDENT SPEAKS: CLEAN WATER
While we often take this precious natural resource for granted, 1.1 billion people in the world struggle daily to obtain clean water for drinking, cooking and washing. The lack of clean water has a dramatic impact on the public health in those countries where clean water is not assured. Children are particularly susceptible to water-borne illnesses.
Rotary International has given the highest priority to clean water projects worldwide. Each local club is encouraged to participate in some international water project by providing water wells, filtering systems, storage tanks or helping establish hygiene programs.
Our Board is currently investigating an international water project to support. If you would like to participate in our club’s effort, please let me know.
We can make a difference.
Have a great week.
