Last Week’s Program...
Ron Petroski, Vice President of Operations for Forbes Hamilton Management spoke to the club about the Executive Inn Rivermont. Mr. Petroski began his program by highlighting the various festivals and events which help to promote tourism in Owensboro. He then updated the club on future plans for the Executive Inn which may include an indoor waterpark, indoor sports arena/convention center and the possibility of becoming a part of the Radissan Hotel chain.

YOUR PRESIDENT SPEAKS: Rotary Readifest
The Messenger-Inquirer on Tuesday, May 16, 2006, detailed significant changes to the Rotary Readifest, one of our club’s major projects. After discussions with our area school officials and the Hager Foundation, it has been decided that the combined Rotary Readifest at the Executive Inn will be discontinued in favor of similar programs at back-to-school registrations at each school. The school officials and family resource representatives felt that this would be a more effective way to distribute the services and supplies to the students and parents. However, Owensboro Rotary will remain as involved as ever! Our financial support will continue to provide the Rotary Ready-Paks of school supplies tailored to the needs of each school. Also, the schools very much want and need our volunteers to help with the registrations. Pat McFarling has represented the club at the planning meetings for the new procedure. Please sign up to serve when Pat asks for volunteers this fall.
